From the supplier: Many nurses are already trained in violence prevention and so are uniquely qualified to help in the change of crime prevention focus from capital punishment to prevention. The public believes that deterrence works despite evidence to the contrary and so funding for prevention is limited. The majority of criminals have been victims of violence or child abuse while more murders are performed by family members than by serial killers. Therefore, preventing substance abuse and violence, such as child abuse, would be more effective in reducing crime.
