From the supplier: Animals can have a calming effect on many troubled adolescents. One adolescent psychiatric unit kept a cocker spaniel in the unit on a 24-hour basis. Thirty of the teenagers were later interviewed to see how the dog effected them. Many said the presence of the dog produced a friendly, home-like environment. Many were able to talk to the dog about their problems and felt the dog was their best friend. The dog appeared to be able to predict seizures in one boy.
