From the supplier: First and second grade students were observed to determine how children developed gender identities and how these are used to establish power positions in the classroom. It is shown that gender identities are developed during the social situations that children encounter. It is also argued that gender identities reflect children's experimentation with societal norms and are the results of teaching and classroom management.
