From the supplier: A few women experience adjustment problems following an abortion, and a literature review has identified a number of risk factors for such adjustment difficulties. Demographic factors include age of less than 19, unmarried with no children, Catholic, and diagnosis of psychiatric illness. Other factors include difficulty with the decision to have an abortion or external pressure to have an abortion, the meaningfulness of the pregnancy, detection of genetic fetal anomaly, abortion during the second trimester, attribution of blame for the pregnancy, low coping expectancies and lack of social support.
