From the supplier: Middle schools should create a learning environment which recognizes student diversity and adjusts to young adolescents' needs and developmental levels. Teachers should treat young adolescents as individuals with diverse interests, family, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds and adapt their teaching methods and approaches to their students' varying needs. Teachers can adapt to student diversity by using new models of teaching such as collaborative and consultative services by special educators, differential scheduling, and planning and exchanges with professionals from other fields.
