From the supplier: A two-part study found that registered nurses could not level a ventricular drainage collection system correctly merely by sight and that their performance improved when aided by a leveling tool. The tools employed were a carpenter's level and a laser-leveling device. The laser proved to be the easiest and quickest tool. Thirty-three registered nurses volunteered for the first part of the study, and 31 different registered nurses participated in the second part. The skill level differences between the two groups may have affected the results.
