From the supplier: A report of the first nest site of European starlings in the Cape region of Baja California together with an analysis of the possible ecological impact of the species on other native species found in the region is given. The starlings have been known to cause a decrease in the population of other bird species due to competition for nesting sites. The species was first introduced in New York in 1890 but is presently found all over North America. The southern part of Baja California remains as one of the most uninhabited deserts in the world with a predominantly sarcocaulescent scrub vegetation.
