From the supplier: The criminal justice system should no longer be used to control Aboriginal life. Ordinary Aboriginal behavior was defined as criminal before the mid-19th century, and studies begun as recently as the late 1980s show Aborigines are subjected to unusually high rates of arrest and imprisonment. Aborigines were gradually assimilated into white society between the 1950s and 1970s, but government policies about Aboriginal behavior need to change.
