From the supplier: High school salutatorian Tim Lovelock defends his concept of the positive effects of enjoyment in learning in his graduation speech. He criticized Massachusetts Board of Education Chmn John Silbur who belittled the suggestion made by third graders to incorporate more enjoyable activities in the educational process. From Lovelock's personal experience, he observed that he and his fellow students acquire the most knowledge when they are allowed to actively participate in their studies. Alternatives to lecture form of teaching are able to stimulate even bored and disenchanted students.
