From the supplier: Mikhail Bakhtin Claims that political, social, and ideological conflicts in a society affect the play of language and discource within it. This has been proven by a study of Filipino writers, particularly Jose Garcia VIlla, whose works subtly reveal how the subjugation of the Philippines by the US in 1898 has Historicized the art of Filipino writing. Any emperialist nation attempts to mobilize a territory through language, among other ideological tools. This emplies that Filipino writing must be situated in the historical convergence of the country's political, economic and ideoligical forces.
