From the supplier: A mathematical model that examines the tax management policy of a property-liability insurance firm is described. The uncertainty of the firm's tax rate is also analyzed using the fuzzy sets approach. The fuzzy sets methodology demonstrates the tax effect of including the insurance liabilities in the invested asset portfolio of the property-liability company as well as the after-tax rates of return. Results show the benefits of the underwriting tax shield and the influence of parametric uncertainty on tax rate and after-tax return uncertainty.
