From the supplier: An analysis of shoplifting data collected by Loss Prevention Specialists revealed that only about 4% of shoplifters physically resisted when they were detained, while most cooperated with security men. Only a few carried weaponsand much fewer used them when confronted. Another interesting discovery is that most shoplifters were not under the influence of any substance when they committed the crime. Despite these findings, security personnel still need to be trained on how to deal with resisting shoplifters.
