From the supplier: Mexico's native peoples are up in protest against the government's "Trans-Isthmus Project" which will link the Atlantic and Pacific oceans by a road across the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. The project is envisioned as a land bridge which will support both rail and other land vehicles. However, the indigenous peoples are worried because the project calls for the elimination of the virgin rainforest in Zoque territory and to be replaced by a purely eucalyptus plantation. Moreover, the government has also neglected to consult the residents of the isthmus themselves.
