From the supplier: The apartment community called Princeton at Mt Vernon is one of the most technologically endowed properties in Massachusetts. Each of the 144 apartment units features quick Internet access and six telephone lines. In addition, each unit boasts of digital thermostat controls, an electronic security system and a laundry room that allows use of debit cards. Princeton Properties, which owns the apartment community, decided to install these smart features in addition to making renovations in landscaping, lighting and signage for a variety of reasons. It felt that these technological enhancements are necessary to attract its target market composed of employees working in nearby high-tech and financial service companies. The features also allow differentiation from competitors and boost the image of the property. The result is a significant increase in occupancy despite doubling of rents.
