From the supplier: Amazonian indigenous groups have filed a case against the US Patent and Trademark Office for improperly issuing a patent to US pharmaceutical firm International Plant Medicine Corp for the Amazonian plant called ayahuasca. The Amazon aborigines are represented by the Coordinating Body for Indigenous Organizations in the Amazon with two Washington-based organizations, namely the Center for International Environment Law and the Coalition for Amazonian Peoples and their Environment. The indigenous groups hope to annul the ayahuasca patent.
