From the supplier: Employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) is an employee benefit plan for full-time employees who spent at least one year with the company. It is dependent on the salary and the length of time spent with the firm. Approximately half of ESOPs in private companies are used to purchase companies, while the other half is used as additional benefit. On the other hand, 100% of worker cooperatives are owned by the employees and are popular among small business enterprises, such as retail food stores, bakeries and bookstores.
