Business memos, letters and reports are perceived to be transactional in nature and based on particular formats that are characterized by usage. It is argued that business communication entails the same requirements called for in other types of composition in writing, such as causal and process analysis, classification and evaluation. Further, the act of communication in a business culture suggests an ethical basis.
