From the supplier: Frederic Jameson approaches the subject of Utopia as a dialectical tool. By saying Utopia is real Jameson believes it will be transformed into something real, not a place, but a process. Society's resistance to Utopia occurs in popular texts and later in analysis. Eventually the concept is not accepted because the public believes Utopia is incompatible with the organization of society. Jameson shows that the context in which Utopian ideas can be freely discussed has been lost to man.
