From the supplier: Several human rights organizations led by the U.S./Guatemalan Labor Education Project and Oxfam announced that the expose reported in the 'Cincinnati Enquirer' about Chiquita Brands International's human rights abuses in Guatemala is true. According to the organizations, despite the retractions made by the newspaper, Central American workers complain of 16-hour days, very low wages and hazardous working conditions. The groups are also lobbying the US government to review the full trade status accorded to Guatemala and re-examine the working conditions in the country.
