Worldwide Relational Database Management Systems 2005-2009 Forecast: An Initial View

This IDC study provides an initial forecast of the relational database management systems (RDBMS) software market through 2009. It examines current trends in the world economy in general, and trends and activities in the RDBMS software market in particular. "The relational database management systems market showed solid growth from 2003 to 2004, partly due to the bounce-back of users catching up with technology needs, and partly due to favorable exchange rates," says Carl Olofson, research director for Information and Data Management Software Research at IDC. "The RDBMS market will show steady growth as the need for data storage and management increases with data integration projects on the rise."
