From the supplier: A new taxonomy for simulation modeling was proposed as an alternative to the existing one which contains several flaws. The proposed taxonomy addresses the limitations of the old classification system such as the lack of a clear distinction between syntax and semantics and an artificial separation of model types with forms that are identical. Furthermore, the new taxonomy provides a cohesive approach for system modeling for simulation by clustering model types together based on programming language categories.
