From the supplier: The tribulations and achievements of the women leaders of the National Assn for Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS) and the Assn for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) are presented. The efforts of the early leaders to make the transition of women's participation in sports from mere play days and sports days to varsity and Olympic competition are highlighted. The struggle, however, is far from complete and today's leaders are called to follow the path blazed by their forerunners.
