From the supplier: The Balanced Scorecard is a performance measurement tool for CEOs who wish to gain a comprehensive picture of the overall health of their companies. It is a tool that has been used by companies such as Fortis, Mobil Oil, CIGNA Property and Casualty and Principal Financial Group, to evaluate overall performance using measures that are not dependent on short-term, bottom-line results alone. Invented by consultants Robert Kaplan and David Norton, the Balanced Scorecard yields several benefits, including the ability to bridge the gap between the objectives of high-level executives and those of front-line workers. A properly planned Balanced Scorecard allows imput and feedback from executives and employees to be used to establish goals in four critical areas: internal business processes, satisfaction and loyalty, learning and growth, and financials.
