While it may be true, that people are generally afraid of the unknown, it may also be advantageous for a management team to use this fear to enlighten rank and file employees as to the nature of the changes and long-term effects of corporate initiatives. A business unit management team collaborated with an organizational development design team to introduce organizational changes on the genetic level of an international oil company to reduce the chances of resistance among the employees.
