From the supplier: Environmental problems were not properly addressed by the Lebanese government in its economic rebuilding activities. Although several environment-related laws and decrees were created by the government, environmental problems persist due to inability to enforce such laws. The Lebanese authorities, in their attempts to address environmental problems, at times exacerbated the situation and intentionally tried to silence opposition to their plans.
