Tarrytown, NY-based market research firm BAIGlobal Inc.'s direct mail acquisition tracking service Mail Monitor indicates that response rates to card mail offers have been consistent with an average of 1.2% in 1998. Card applications through direct mail increased to 41 million which reflect that some credit card demands in the US have not been addressed.
