Service providers, such as Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, have redefined value and have taken advantage of current business trends, such as globalization. Another trend is for global enterprises to offer retail financial services. Many major financial services companies have offered retail businesses to attract more customers. Studies have shown that the new generation of consumers have greater risk tolerance, mostly due to prolonged periods of low inflation. However, despite the current wave of globalization, the basic functions of a financial services firm has remained the same, only these functions have been done differently.
