Japan IT Solutions 2005-2009 Preliminary Forecast

This IDC study analyzes the Japan IT solutions market in 2004 and forecasts the market size between 2005 and 2009. The sizes of the Japan IT solutions market segments in 2004 are as follows: customer relationship management (CRM), 407,572 million Yen; enterprise resource management (ERM), 785,067 million Yen; and supply chain management (SCM), 263,739 million Yen. According to IDC forecasts, the Japan CRM solutions market will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.1% to reach 523,792 million Yen in 2009. The ERM market will grow at a CAGR of 2.6% to reach 894,490 million Yen in 2009 and the SCM market will grow at a CAGR of 2.6% to reach 299,477 million Yen in 2009.

"IT solution vendors should continue to promote solution development (including collaboration with partners) as an important strategy, with emphasis on three areas, namely, boosting of industry-specific solutions, continued efforts in cultivating the midsize market, and adoption of new technologies," opines Hisashi Kajita, senior market analyst, Software Research, IDC Japan.
