How the UMTS Market performed in Western Europe in 2004

This study contains IDC's UMTS and GPRS vendor share data for the Western European market in 2004. Vendors' market shares are calculated according to end-user revenue. In addition, the study shows base station and radio network controller shipments by country.

"In 2004, UMTS network deployment in the Western European market increased very rapidly," said Romolo Pusceddu, research manager for IDC's European Mobile and WiFi Infrastructure service. "Ericsson remains the undisputed vendor leader of UMTS network infrastructure."
