North American Application/Web Server Software 2005-2009 Forecast: Standards-Based Application Deployment Software Grows Despite Overall Market Downturn

This IDC study provides a highly modeled sizing of the aggregate demand for ASSP/Web server software in North America in 2002–2004, and a 2005–2009 forecast, in .NET-only, J2EE-only, and joint J2EE/.NET IT departments. 2004 revenue estimates and forecast revenue through 2009, overall and for the three options, are shown for the North American geographic region and are based on extensive demand-side research. This study does not contain vendor-specific revenue, market shares, vendor profiles, or forecasts for Western Europe, Asia/Pacific, and the rest of the world. This is the first aggregate ASSP/Web server software forecast by IDC using reference-architecture preference as a "filter"; a similar forecast was provided in May 2004 (for the period 2004–2008), but it included integration server software platform (ISSP) software in the aggregation.
