Worldwide Embedded Database Management Systems 2005-2009 Forecast

This IDC study provides a five-year forecast for the embedded database management systems (DBMS) market through 2009, with a breakdown by geographic region and operating environment. "The market for embedded database management systems will continue to grow over the next five years, fueled by demand for self-contained applications that can manage data without a DBA," says Carl Olofson, research director for information management and data integration software research at IDC. "Windows 32 and 64, the predominant environment for self-contained packaged applications, is expected to show the greatest growth most rapidly."
