Western European UMTS and GPRS Infrastructure Forecast, 2004-2009

The study provides a forecast of the UMTS and GPRS markets in Western Europe from 2005 to 2009 in terms of mobile operator spending, base stations, and base station controllers.

Countries include Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Methodology

The quantitative information in this study is the result of IDC's continued research on Western European mobile infrastructure. The study includes both primary and secondary sources of information.

Primary sources of information consist of surveys completed by vendors. To increase the accuracy of the primary data, IDC has compared the mobile operator information with their financial and income statements.

Secondary sources include consultation with IDC's regional offices and mobile data channels (e.g., IT journals and Internet data).
