Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Industry Update, 3Q05

This Manufacturing Insights update reviews the status of the aerospace and defense manufacturing industry for the 3Q05. Table 1 presents an overview of the macroeconomic trends, industry issues, and pain points for the aerospace and defense manufacturing industry. The table also includes recent major IT announcements and/or investments across hardware, software, and IT services.

Beginning in 3Q05, Manufacturing Insights has expanded its coverage of the manufacturing industry to include updates on nine manufacturing and retail industry segments. These segments include: aerospace and defense, automotive, high tech, electronic component, other discrete manufacturing, chemical, consumer package goods (CPG), other process manufacturing, and retail. The format for each update will remain the same and will include description and analysis of major economic trends, regulatory issues, pain points, and recent announcements. We are confident that clients will benefit from this increased breadth of research and will continue to depend on it to stay informed on industry and segment trends.
