Westercon 37 (37th Annual Science Fantasy Conference 1984 Program Book)

This is a very special item for science fiction collectors, not only a hilarious and perfect parody of a famous magazine in the field, but a collection of first appearances of the work of several award-winning writers. The cover art is by Artist Guest of Honor Alex Schomburg. The cover itself is an spot-on replication of the look of Fantasy and Science Fiction, the longest running sf magazine in existence. Included among the convention information are articles by David Gerrold, George R. R. Martin, and the 1st appearance (in this form) of a piece by Harlan Ellison called A Love Song to Jerry Falwell. In fiction, there is a Vonda McIntyre story and a pulp story parody, written as fan fiction, by F. M. Busby. Edward Bryant contributed an excerpt from a novel in progress. This item also features the first publication of John Varley's story, The Manhattan Phone Book (Abridged).
