Motorola Buys Itself Into Enterprise WiFi

This IDC Flash reviews the September 19, 2006, announcement by Motorola that it has signed a merger agreement with Symbol Technologies. In this agreement Symbol will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Motorola and will be the cornerstone of Motorola's network and enterprise business. The acquisition is subject to both regulatory approval and approval of Symbol's stockholders and is expected to be completed late 2006 or early 2007.
