Worldwide HPC Technical Grid Software and Services 2005-2008 Forecast: Market Opportunities

This study presents IDC's initial sizing of the grid software and service revenue in the technical computing market. The revenue reported in these estimates represent only the unique added revenue spent in implementing a grid. Base server software and service revenue is excluded. In both segments, the current size of the yearly revenue is relatively small but is projected to grow very quickly. In the future, IDC plans to refine the HPC grid forecast model to explore other attributes of revenue related to grids.
