ITU Telecom World: Spotlight on Multimedia, TD-SCDMA Mobile Phones

This IDC Event Flash reviews the key happenings at ITU Telecom World and considers their impact on Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ in the coming year. Taking place once every three years typically in Geneva, Switzerland, ITU Telecom World came to Hong Kong in 2006. A number of key executives spoke at the event, and a few multimedia mobile phones were launched by Motorola and Samsung. Meanwhile, with 3G licenses expected to be issued in the People's Republic of China (PRC) soon, the TD-SCDMA technology also came under scrutiny.
