Fundamentals of Noise and Vibration

The principal purpose of Fundamentals of Noise and Vibration is to provide an understanding of the physical phenomena of sound and vibration, their effects on human beings, their mathematical representations and theoretical and experimental means for their analysis and measurement. No prior formal education in the specific subject is assumed, but a training in mechanics, fluid dynamics and applied mathematics is a pre-requisite. The material forms the basis of the first semester ISVR M.Sc. course in Sound and Vibration Studies.
