Description:
Most studies have reported decision support systems (DSS) impact on individual performance under simulated conditions. There is need to examine the impact on performance of widely used institutional DSS. Utilizing longitudinal data from multiple healthcare organizations, this study measures the contribution of an institutional contract modeling DSS to user organizations' performance. Least squares regression analysis results indicate that actual usage of DSS is significantly and positively related to the reimbursement rate for services. We find confirmation of lag effects in realizing revenues following DSS usage.
