Description:
In this study, the changes in the physical (density and thickness swelling), mechanical (modulus of rupture, modulus of elasticity, internal bond), and biological (decay resistance) properties of particleboard dependence on the melamine paper weight, varnish type and the structure of continuous press laminate (CPL) were investigated. It was shown that coating of board surfaces and edges increased the mechanical properties except for internal bond strength, decreased the thickness swelling, and improved the decay resistance of particleboard, significantly. Melamine paper weight, the structure of CPL and varnish types were found to be effective on the some properties of particleboard.
