Sanditon: Jane Austen's Last Novel Completed

In January,1817,Jane Austen began to write a novel,which she did not live to finish. The fragment became know among her family as Sanditon,and for over a hundred years it existed as an unfinished manuscript,of interest only to scholars and unknown to the general public. A few years ago a long-time admirer of Jane Austen's novel,fascinated by the mystery of Sanditon,decided to try her hand at completing the story- following the clues laid down by the author and writing in a style modeled on hers.
