Start with a colourful jigged lunchbox, packed with lots of healthy, nutritious food. All the food cards are spread face downwards on the table. Take it in turns to turn over a card, and if it shows one of the items in your lunchbox, you can put it on your luncbox game board. If it is not in your lunchbox, show everyone else what it is, and pop it back, face down, on the table. The aim of the game is to be the first player to collect all the healthy items in their lunchbox. It will help children learn about a healthy diet, as all the items in a lunchbox are familiar, tasty items, and each lunchbox provides a balanced, healthy meal. The game can be used as a basis for conversations about healthy eating, and children can be encouraged to talk about the food items in the game.
