The Bible: A New Translation

Who were the people? Where and how did they live? What were the forms and functions of their literature? Such are the questions which require to be answered before we can read the Bible intelligently. The translation now offered of this text is an attempt to represent the gains of recent research and at the same time to be readable. The books are also arranged in the order of the English Bible, for the sake of convenience.
