First Editions. Two volume set in slipcase, each volume has the Scribner "A" on the copyright page. Previous owner's name & address (dated 1950) on front fixed endpaper of volume II. Slipcase has small tear to the upper rear corner, with wear & rubbing to the edges & corners. Otherwise each of these books are clean and bright, with no creases, no tears, and no other markings.
