Cost Accounting

Modern cost accounting has been termed a "tool of management." It no longer provides merely historical data that are recorded, summarized, and presented as part of the general accounting. Its task has been expanded in order to permit the control of possible reduction of costs and to guide management in making decision and in shaping future policies and operations.
