Japan Enterprise WLAN Equipment 2008-2012 Forecast and 2007 Analysis

This IDC study, which is a translation of the Japanese report IDC #J9030101, analyzes the trends and future outlook of the Japan enterprise WLAN equipment market. The Japan enterprise WLAN equipment market was on low gear in 2007 although the growth rate was higher compared to the year before. With the release of enterprise IEEE802.11n products, the market headed for a recovery in 2008. WLAN controllers/switches and dependent access points (AP) will serve as the driving force behind this market.

"Enterprise WLAN equipment vendors should endeavor to promote replacement and expansion demand among existing users. To do so, it is important for them to reduce the real cost of implementing new WLAN equipment and propose systems that integrate WLAN and wired LAN. Enterprise WLAN equipment vendors should seek wider tie-ups with security solutions, Japanese independent AP vendors, and LAN switch vendors, and further promote integrated wireless/wired LAN solutions provided by systems integrators and network integrators," notes Kenichi Kusano, market analyst, Communications, IDC Japan.
