User Feedback to Software Vendors in 2009: European Investment Reality Check 2009

This IDC study analyzes the 2009 Western European Enterprise Survey, on the topic of feedback on IT — and particularly software vendors in the current tough economic climate. The recession has had a great impact on the market and IT spending. In this situation it is vital to hear what users expect from vendors.

"Users expect software vendors to be their partner also in a falling economy and when times are tough. The pressure is serious to renegotiate contracts, users are increasingly critical on license models, now accentuated by the fact that alternatives are gaining momentum," said Anne-Lise Wang, research vice president for IDC's software research in Europe.
