Man-Eaters of Kumaon

Major Jim Corbett was famous in India, especially the foothills of the Himalayas for his ability to track and kill tigers and leopards in the area who were "Man-eaters". Villagers and their stock were endangered by the predators, and the only solution was to destroy them. This book is a compilation of 10 stories of some of the most fascinating of these stories. It is notable that Maj. Corbett later became a noted conservationist, dedicated to preserving the Indian countryside and the animals that called it their home. Several black and white photographs illustrate his words. Compared by some to Kipling.
