Gator Jack

The humorous part of "Gator Jack" was inspired by the antics from one of my children's favorite movies: "The Apple Dumpling Gang." A happy story! But, while writing it, I took a realistic turn and focused on the troubled lives of three children born to this poor family and all the funny/sad stuff they fall heir too. This short novel is likewise about the parents, doing the best they can till they can do better. The main character, the overbearing grandfather, Gator Jack, wields his power through influence and money, by turns coming to the family's aid and punishing them in curious ways. The setting is the wild reaches of the Okefenokee Swamp with all its terrors and beauty--like Gator Jack.
