Ellery Queen

For more than ten years Joe Wilson had been an impoverished Philadelphia trinket salesman. During the same time Joseph Kent Gimball was a prominent New York socialite of vast wealth. The two men lived in worlds that never touched. But when Ellery Queen found a man's body in a lonely New Jersey house, he also found that Joe Wilson and Joseph Kent Gimball were in fact one and the same man! Ironically, the two sides of Joe Wilson's double life (or perhaps you prefer to call him Joseph Kent Gimball) had met and ended in violent murder! But there was much more than irony to the tragic situation. The corpse who had two names also had two wives...one in Philadelphia and one in New York. And he had taken out a million-dollar life insurance policy without announcing the beneficiary. All Ellery Queen had to do was find out "Who would kill a man with two names and two wives for one million dollars?"
